Zoom - Protecting Student Privacy

"Zoombombing" where an outsider gains access to a zoom classroom meeting and injects inapproriate content is exploding.  Here are some practical tips to securing Zoom in the classroom.

Ranked in order of importance

- Require a password to enter   (How to do this)
- Enable the waiting room feature - then you admit students as they are approved (here is a link on how to do that)                 
- Lock the meeting after it starts to not admit anyone new 
- Don't use your personal meeting ID - have zoom generate a new meeting ID for each class meeting.
- Admit everyone muted
- Know how to put a student "on-hold" to exclude them from a meeting. (link)
- Have students use a virtual background to mask anyone else in the room and room features etc (what student doesnt have personal info on the wall of their room?) (link)
